The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently published the 2022 Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System Final Rule.
Finalized in this rule is a new policy that will make the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery (OAS) CAHPS survey mandatory for eligible hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs).
Administration of the OAS CAHPS survey will be required for hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) starting in 2024 as a measure of the Hospital Outpatient Quality Reporting program, and for ASCs in 2025 as a part of the Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting Program.
SurveyVitals has been a CMS-approved OAS CAHPS vendor since 2016, and is ready to partner with hospitals and ASCs to administer the survey to meet quality reporting requirements. Additionally, SurveyVitals will be equipped to administer a web-based version of the survey, which is the first CAHPS survey for which CMS will allow digital surveying.
Outside of the OAS CAHPS survey, SurveyVitals can administer additional digital experience surveys to the remainder of your patient population after CAHPS sampling. Real-time patient feedback with high response rates can help you to target improvement in areas relevant to your quality reporting.
SurveyVitals is also approved to administer nine other CAHPS surveys. Learn more here, or request a demo today to learn how we can help you meet CAHPS requirements and improve your patient experience.
